The month of June has truely been a month to remember for Corvette and Motorsports. In the FIA GT Championship, SRT claimed Corvettes first win of the season followed by another C6R win the next round at Adria in the form of Phoenix Carsport. To cap off the end of June, Corvette was once again victorious in both the GT1 and GT3 class.
First was the ADAC race, where Klaus Ludwig and Dominik Schwager put in an impressive performance in their Callaway Z06R. The pair saw a near perfect first race. Pole position was claimed followed by a severe accident nearly stripping them of their top time. Luckily the Callaway crew made a fantactic turn around on repairs and was able to have it ready for the first race. After the green flag dropped for race one, the duo went on to claim the first GT3 win of the year for Callaway as well as in the ADAC GT Masters.
In GT1, The French FFSA GT Championship met for their fourth round. As usual two races were planned on the turns of Val de Vienne and SRT came through to win the second race after a mixed result during race one. “We deliver good work, my team did the impossible last night to get the car back into shape, the drivers did the rest. I’m very happy; the difference with the leaders in the championship is getting smaller. I’m looking forward to the fifth meeting of the Championship in Spa Francorchamps.”
Both Callaway Competition and SRT will be traveling to the next rounds of the FIA GT & GT3 Championship at Oschersleben aiming for the top step of the podium.
