SRT captures first win of the season

A Corvette C6R won round two of the FIA GT Championship by 24.552 seconds over the second place Vitaphone Maserati MC12. Thirty-three cars took the green flag under cloudy, but dry conditions after a very wet weekend.

Fifteen of the thirty-three cars competed in the GT1 category and four were Corvettes.  It was a good day for Belgium, with a victory in GT1 for SRT in their Corvette C6R driven by Bouchut/Maassen.  The Nr 6 GMAC Corvette C6R driven Hezemans/Golin was fourth 54.245 seconds behind the winner.

AT Racing’s C5R repeated their Silverstone win at Monza by securing the Citation Cup victory.  The old warrior was driven by Kaufmann/Talkanitsa. This category places tire restrictions on the cars and it is designed for “Gentleman Drivers”.   All results provisional pending sporting and technical scrutineering.
