House of Portier TAM score another win in the UAE

A strong field turned up for the Total UAE GT Championship 45 minute mini-enduro race, and once again Karim Al Azhari (House of Portier /TAM  Auto Engineering) "Corvette Z06R-GT3" was the man to beat in the GTA Class. With his car subject to performance equalization of five seconds in the pit stop, the multiple UAE champion had to work hard for his win. His main rivals Tarek Elgammal/Cabell Fisher (Khaleeji Porsche) and Julian Griffin (DXB Racing Dodge Viper) were closer than ever and pushing the Corvette throughout the race. Twice Al Azhari found himself in second place and both times had to work hard to regain the lead. In the end he took the chequered flag by a mere four seconds from Griffin with Elgammal/Fisher not far behind in third. 

Karim Al Azhari: "I was looking forward to running the House of Portier Corvette on the National Circuit and must admit struggled to sleep for a couple of days before race day. In practice we managed to do some setup work and I felt good about our chances because TAM Auto Engineering are doing a great job in understanding the car and setting it up. However I also knew that Khaleeji and DXB would be strong with the Porsche and Viper. With the performance equalisation of five seconds the pressure was on and twice I found myself in second place. It is getting harder to beat the guys but in the end we did it and I am very happy for our House of Portier team."
