PK Carsport appeal decision: inadmissable

The chase for the 2009 FIA GT Championship came to a close for Corvette Motorsport and the PK Carsport Corvette Team. After several appeal attempts from the Belgian team, to the International Court of Appeals in Paris, The court ruled against the team. The FIA appeal court dismissed the team's case on the grounds that a drive through penalty given to the Maserati team by the courts cannot be appealed by the team that received the punishment or its rivals. The court ordered PK to pay the costs of the case.
Earlier this week Hezemans and Kumpen lost their second place finish at Zolder when scruntineers ruled that their Corvette had cylinder irregularities, although PK is appealing against this exclusion. So as of now, the teams Zolder result is still pending, but regardless the outcome will not affect their second place championship standings.
Vitaphone Racing's Maseratis retain the Drivers and Teams title for the...fourth straight year. 2010 is now on the Corvette teams horizon, as in a few weeks time PK Carsport will take to the track with fellow Corvette Motorsport team, Selleslagh Racing at a Michelin tyre test on the Algarve circuit in Portugal. The team will be testing and selecting their 2010 tyre compounds for international competition.
